Pride in Pridie

Heads up, everybody! The Tides are playing Charlotte super-early today…first pitch is about…now. You don’t want to miss this one because Steve Johnson is down from Baltimore on a rehab assignment and will get the start.

Have to talk about Jason Pridie’s stellar performance last night. He had something like four hits, including two doubles and three RBI in the Tides’ rout of the Knights by a score of 10-1. (Be sure to catch @mrpriddles on Twitter. He’s a really good follow.) He’s batting .338, and you sabermetric fans might want to know that his OPS is 1.008. The combination of Pridie, Canzler, Valencia, and Hoes are providing some great offense now, largely invalidating my complaint in a previous post about a lack of offense.

My apologies for the short post today. I’m off to dial in the game online and pay some needed attention to my Day Job. – RR
